COVID-19 Vaccinations

gpmaroubra is pleased to advise that we are an approved vaccination provider for COVID-19 vaccines.

We are currently ONLY offering booster vaccines, you must be over the age of 12 and have completed a primary course of COVID-19 vaccine.

If you do not meet the criteria of being over the age of 12 years, and eligible for a booster vaccine, you can find an appropriate provider using the link below.

Please also note that Covid 19 vaccination is not currently routinely recommended for those under the age of 18.

Booking Your Appointment

COVID-19 vaccinations are voluntary and free.
Due to high demand and stock availability, please be mindful that it may take some time for you to get an appointment. Our staff are doing everything they can to assist as many people as possible however we do ask for patience during this time. You may call the practice on 02 93119311 to book this appointment.

Before your vaccination appointment, you should make sure your details are up to date with Medicare.

Please do not come to your vaccination appointment:

if you are feeling unwell with fever, cough, runny nose, or other symptoms that could be from COVID-19

if you are waiting for COVID-19 test results, or have tested positive for COVID-19

We are asking that any patients who have cold, flu or any other respiratory symptoms to please wear a mask when attending the practice. If you do not have access to a mask, one can be provided to you at reception upon your arrival.

Prepairing for Your Vaccination 

Before your vaccination appointment, you should make sure your details are up to date with Medicare.
If you don’t have your account set up, you can:

Non-Medicare eligible patients can be vaccinated at a state-based vaccine delivery site or a General Practitioner-led Respiratory Clinic (or other clinic as advised by the Department of Health if these facilities are not available). They will not be charged at these clinics.
If you are not eligible for Medicare, please contact the National Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 020 080 to find out the nearest location that can provide this service for you.

Please do not come to your vaccination appointment:

  • if you are feeling unwell with fever, cough, runny nose or other symptoms that could be from COVID-19
  • if you are waiting for COVID-19 test results, or have tested positive for COVID-19
  • if you are a close contact of someone with COVID-19, or
  • if you are in quarantine.

If you have had another vaccine, for example the influenza vaccination, in the 14 days before your COVID-19 vaccine appointment. Please let us know as we may need to reschedule your appointment.

To keep you and our community safe, before and after vaccination, it is important that you continue to:

  • Stay 1.5 metres away from other people and avoid handshakes and contact with people outside your household.
  • Stay home if you feel unwell and get tested for COVID-19. You must stay at home until your results come back.
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or use hand sanitiser.
  • Always cough or sneeze into your arm or a tissue and put the tissue in the bin straight away.
  • Download the COVIDSafe app to help health officials let you know if you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19.

At gpmaroubra, your safety is our priority. All appropriate measures have been implemented by the practice in accordance with the Department of Health and the Public Health Unit guidelines. 

IF YOU HAVE:

Any cold or flu like symptoms including fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, shortness of breath or nausea

Been in contact with anyone who has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days

AND:

You require medical attention, please do not come into the practice, but phone our reception staff who will be able to assist you with the most appropriate appointment type.

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING SEVERE SYMPTOMS, PLEASE PHONE 000 FOR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE.
